Frequent Music at Kohl collaborators and Honorary Chairs of our 30th Anniversary Season two years ago, the Alexander String Quartet returns to close the series with a program including Brahms’s String Quartet No.3 in B-flat Major, Op. 67, and a haunting work written for the Alexander String Quartet by internationally celebrated Bay Area composer Jake Heggie in celebration of the ASQ’s 30th Anniversary in 2012. The Alexander String Quartet has performed in the major music capitals of five continents, securing its standing among the world’s premier ensembles. A major artistic presence in its San Francisco home base, the quartet’s members serve as directors of the Morrison Chamber Music Center at San Francisco State University and Ensemble in Residence of San Francisco Performances.
