Programming for Children & Families

Music at Kohl isn't just for adults. We also offer programs designed for children and families, including our Family Series and Children's Concerts, and our Music in Schools program, which brings music to nearly 3,000 students in Burlingame, Millbrae and San Mateo schools annually. We also offer a unique online learning experience for you and your children with our Sounds Like Learning© study guides.

Family Series Concerts

We produce an annual series of evening Family Concerts for all ages, providing the opportunity to meet leading musician/educators up close and expand your knowledge of chamber music. Introduce your family to the joys of chamber music in these one-hour, conversational performances. All concerts are on Fridays and begin at 7:00 pm.

Daytime Children's Concerts

Annually, as many as 1000 school children attend our Daytime Children's Concerts on field trips with their classes to Kohl Mansion. These 45-minute weekday morning performances are perfect for school field trips or individuals. Tickets are just $5 each (students and adults) and there is parking nearby for both cars and busses.

Music in Schools

For 14 years, our Music in Schools program has entertained over 3000 children annually with in-schools performances and master classes by professional musicians in Burlingame and Millbrae elementary, middle and high schools. Integrating musical ideas can make learning academic skills more fun. To this end, Music at Kohl Mansion has provided an enrichment curriculum to classrooms for several years. These tools are now available online so children and their families can share the fun at home as well.
