Children’s Concerts
While our Children’s Concerts and Family Programs at the San Mateo Library are on necessary hiatus this season, we invite you to go Up, Up, and Away! with Sound Impact’s new digital education program Time Travel Goes Digital!
The Sound Impact ensemble, one of Music at Kohl’s education partners, has developed an online series of 10 interactive videos exploring music’s role throughout history. Each episode focuses on a unique theme revealing its connections to music, illustrating culturally responsive vignettes. The program offers wonderful family viewing opportunities – check out the lively and engaging videos, and learn something along the way! Join the adventure!

An interactive program introducing children to a real live concert experience. Fast-paced, lively, and fun, Children’s Concerts are designed for elementary and pre-school aged students. Weekday morning performances make ideal field trips for schools, community groups, seniors, home-schoolers as well as individual families. Suitable for all ages. These performances by professional musicians/educators engage young audiences of our local community.

Family Concerts expose audiences of all ages to the music, poetry, language, history, and customs of many world cultures. These admission-free concerts are held in the Oak Room at the San Mateo Public Library, located at 55 West 3rd Avenue, San Mateo. No tickets are required. Free underground parking. Lee Trio
The Lee Trio is an award-winning piano trio made up of three virtuosic performers, educators and sisters from San Francisco. Since its critically acclaimed Wigmore Hall debut in 2002, The Lee Trio’s “gripping immediacy and freshness” and “rich palette of tone colours” [The Strad] has inspired and moved audiences worldwide, establishing itself as one of the premier chamber ensembles on the international stage. In addition to performing, the Trio devotes time to teaching and giving masterclasses, and frequently collaborates with living composers, most recently finishing a recording project of Jane Antonia Cornish's piano trio, Duende, on the Delos Music label.
