Join us for a weekend of free-to-the-public programs featuring the Grammy award-winning Harlem Quartet
with pianist-composer Aldo López-Gavilán.

Film Screening and Discussion with award-winning film makers Marcia Jarmel & Ken Schneider

San Mateo Public Library, 55 W 3rd Avenue, San Mateo
Friday, October 29, 5-7 PM

Two Cuban-born brothers, both virtuoso musicians – pianist Aldo López-Gavilán and Harlem Quartet violinist Ilmar Gavilán – live on opposite sides of the geopolitical chasm that separates the U.S. and Cuba. Following their parallel lives in New York and Havana, Los Hermanos/The Brothers offers an amazingly heartfelt view of estranged nations through the lens of music and family. In English, with subtitles.
