Jeremy Sutton is a San Francisco-based artist and digital paint pioneer and founder of the online educational resource PaintboxTV.com. Originally from London, he blends expressive fine art painting with exploring the latest digital paint technologies and media. Jeremy performs live painting at events, teaches digital (and non-digital) art, speaks at conferences and creates customized commissioned art. He studied life drawing, sculpture and print-making at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art (now called the Ruskin School of Art), Oxford University, U.K., while earning a degree in Physics. Jeremy then studied lithography and life drawing at De Vrije Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten, The Hague, The Netherlands, before moving to the heart of Silicon Valley, California, in 1988, where he was introduced to digital painting in 1991, transforming his career from physicist to artist. Author of the Painter Creativity series of books, he’s been a featured platform speaker at numerous international conferences (including Macworld, Siggraph and Imaging USA); has taught workshops world-wide (including at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London); and has performed live event action painting at the de Young and Legion of Honor Museums, San Francisco, (as tableau vivant portraying the historical artists Edgar Degas, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse); for Cirque du Soleil at the TOTEM show in San Francisco, 2011; as the featured iPad artist at the opening of the epic David Hockney “A Bigger Exhibition” in the de Young Museum, 2012; at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s “America Now!
