Sunday, November 16, 2014 – 7 pm – Kohl Début

Founded in 2005, the Escher String Quartet has inspired The Guardian to proclaim it “one of the finest quartets of its generation.” Championed by the Emerson String Quartet, the Escher Quartet became one of the few chamber ensembles to be awarded the prestigious Avery Fischer Career Grant. With a busy international touring schedule, the Escher String Quartet has received acclaim for its profound musical insight and rare tonal beauty as well as its youthful verve and daring. In the summer of 2014, the quartet will have released a daunting two-volume recording of the complete string quartets of Zemlinsky on Naxos.
